Deeply Loved

It's one of those mornings.

Waking up later than I wanted to, my coffee doesn't taste right, there's no time to brush my teeth, my hair isn't cooperating, etc.

I have had WAY too many of days that had started like this, and it just makes everything seem worthless.

It also seems to set the tone for the rest of the day.

Now there will be good days and there will be bad days. And beyond the neverending change, there is one thing that won't.

God's Love

Let's start by looking at some verses:

  • Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations. - Deuteronomy 7:9

  • But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. - Psalm 86:15

  • God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8

  • I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me. - Galatians 2:20

Now there is a constant theme here - God's never ending love.

I am so full of sin, and honestly, I do not deserve the love of a God so perfect. Not only does He love, He loves so deeply. I mean He sent His ONE AND ONLY SON.

I don't know about you, but I would definitely have a hard time giving up someone I loved, especially to sinful people that were eventually going to commit murder. (Imagine having to give up your child, sister, brother, mother, father, dog, cat, goldfish, pet rock. It's hard to imagine huh?)

Jesus came and lived a sinless life so that we could be saved and live eternity in heaven. If that isn't a perfect example of true love, then I don't know what is.

Kaitlin Wernet said, "Jesus came to serve the undeserving with kindness; this is the heart of God's economy."

I feel like that is a great quote, Jesus DID serve the undeserving. I mean...there was a reason people were so perplexed about why the Son of God was hanging out with the tax collectors.

God does love us so so so deeply.

Even when our days are going crazy, He loves us.

Even when we can't get our hair to look right, He loves us.

Even when we lose our temper, He loves us.

Even when we fall into temptation, He loves us.

Even when we have a hard time loving ourselves, He loves us.

I'm going to end with a quote from Tim Keller,

"The gospel is this: We are more sinful and flawed in ourselves than we ever dared to believe, yet at the same time we are more loved and accepted in Jesus Christ than we ever dared hoped."

With Love,

Hailey Case
